Environmental Policy

Our Environmental Commitment

Since 2020, Jioushun has maintained a formal Environmental Policy grounded in six core principles. These principles guide every construction project, office operation, and procurement decision we make — reflecting our responsibility to the planet, our communities, and future generations.

Climate Risk Management — TCFD

Jioushun has adopted the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework to identify, assess, and manage climate-related risks and opportunities. The General Manager’s Office serves as the highest responsible unit for climate risk management, integrating climate considerations into our Sustainability Development Working Group.

We established the Sustainability Development Working Group in 2023, with annual meetings to set targets and review progress. In 2026, a Board-level Sustainability Development Committee was established. Climate risk findings are reported to the Board.

Jioushun conducts its annual GHG inventory under the operational control approach, in the spirit of ISO 14064-1:2018. The 2023 reporting year serves as the baseline. Our inventory scope covers Neihu headquarters, Taichung office, and all active construction sites.

As a construction company, Scope 2 (purchased electricity) accounts for over 94% of total emissions — reflecting the electricity-intensive nature of construction site operations.

Energy Management

Jioushun manages energy consumption across Neihu headquarters, Taichung office, and all construction sites. In 2025, total energy intensity declined to 1.416 GJ per NTD million revenue — a 14.7% reduction from 2024, reflecting the sustained impact of our energy management initiatives.

Our primary energy source is purchased electricity; construction sites account for the largest share of consumption. Since 2024, diesel has been completely phased out of company operations.

Renewable Energy — Solar at the Construction Site

In March 2025, Jioushun installed the first on-site solar power system at the Dingpu Anju work site — a rooftop solar array atop the construction office, powering on-site lighting, air conditioning, and office equipment.

Construction Waste Management

Jioushun manages construction waste in full compliance with Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) Construction Waste Management Policy. All site waste is classified, sorted, and entrusted to EPA-approved qualified waste processors. In 2025, all contracted waste haulers complied with applicable waste disposal laws, with no violations recorded.

The increase in 2025 waste volume (+28.09% vs. 2024) reflects the fact that multiple active projects entered interior finishing stages simultaneously, generating higher volumes of construction debris.

Water Resources Management

Jioushun’s water use comes primarily from the Taipei Water Department (source: Xindian River watershed), a non-high-stress supply area. All company locations — Neihu HQ, Taichung office, and active construction sites — have been assessed via the WRI Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas and rated Low-Medium (Level 1–2) for overall water risk.

2025 total water consumption decreased 22% versus 2024, driven by the completion of several large construction sites during the period. Water intensity declined for three consecutive years, demonstrating sustained progress in water efficiency.

Wastewater Management

Jioushun manages all construction site wastewater through a controlled treatment flow:

Site Wastewater → Overflow Channel → Sedimentation Pool → Municipal Sewer

All wastewater — including site office domestic sewage, surface runoff, vehicle washing water, and process water — is directed through sedimentation before discharge to municipal drainage, in full compliance with regulatory standards.

Water Risk Assessment

Using the World Resources Institute (WRI) Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas, Jioushun assessed all operational locations — including both offices and all 2025 construction project sites. Results confirm that all locations fall within the Low-Medium (1–2) overall water risk category, indicating no significant water scarcity risk for current operations.

Pollution Prevention on Site

To minimize construction’s impact on surrounding communities and ecosystems, Jioushun enforces comprehensive on-site environmental protection measures from project start to completion.

Noise Control

Biodiversity

Jioushun’s projects are concentrated in high-density urban and industrial zones. Using Taiwan’s Biodiversity Network (TBN) database, we have confirmed that none of our current project sites are located within ecologically protected areas.

We implement environmental protection measures both before and throughout every construction project to minimize disruption to surrounding natural ecosystems.
